Anheuser-Busch Recognizes Convoy Among its Carriers of the Year

Convoy News, ShippersPublished on May 7, 2019

Last year, Anheuser-Busch named Convoy its Tech Partner of the Year. As a tech-enabled logistics marketplace, we were proud to have our teams and platform recognized by an industry leader.

Through our tech-enabled marketplace, we share data and insights with our customers such as facility wait times, which can help forecast detention costs, driver ratings, and much more. All of these insights help shippers make money-saving changes and better, data-driven decisions.

Fast forward to this year. Convoy is now one of Anheuser-Busch’s largest over the road carriers of either brokerage or asset carriers. And, we are honored to announce the brewer named Convoy its Non-Asset Carrier of the Year.

“Delivering on our commitment to our customers comes down to smart planning and stellar execution from our carrier partners,” said Angie Slaughter, vice president sustainability [and logistics] procurement at Anheuser-Busch. “While Convoy’s technology platform and data provide a strong foundation that equips us to make better decisions, it’s the level of service, outstanding performance, and the tailored programs that has earned Convoy a deep level of trust that has taken our partnership far beyond a tech platform.”

Last month, a select group of Anheuser-Busch’s carrier partners attended the company’s annual Strategic Carrier Conference in St. Louis. At the event, four of the brewer’s carrier partners were recognized for outstanding performance in four categories: Asset Carrier, Strategic Carrier, Regional Carrier of the Year, and Non-Asset Carrier of the Year.

The Non-Asset Carrier of the Year award has typically been given to traditional brokerages. But Convoy isn’t a “brokerage,” and we are certainly not traditional, with our technology infrastructure and transport data.

However, neither is Anheuser-Busch. Even with its deep roots and 165+ year heritage, the Anheuser-Busch team is one of the most innovative and tech-forward shippers in the world. They are making a real and measurable impact on the transportation industry and on the environment through their ambitious 2025 Sustainability Goals.

“Through data sharing, our teams work hand-in-hand with the Convoy team to diagnose and resolve supply chain challenges,” Ms. Slaughter continued. “We identify a problem, and we go after a solution together.”

We are humbled to be a part of Anheuser-Busch’s revolution, as we work toward a more automated, efficient, and sustainable supply chain together. We are excited about the work to come!
