A Trucking State of the Union With Will “Lil Dawg” Kling

Convoy NewsPublished on May 23, 2019

Convoy Radio, a podcast for truckers, has hosted guests ranging from Wall Street investors to asset carrier CEOs. The latest episode is an absolute must-listen as truck driver and YouTube personality Will “Lil Dawg” Kling joins the show.

Kling, a.k.a. “Lil Dawg,” is an American truck driver who — after serving in the U.S. Navy — followed his grandfather’s footsteps into the trucking industry. Kling is now the curator of a popular trucking YouTube channel called Lil Dawg, where he voices his opinions and shares his trucking knowledge with more than 25,000 subscribers.

On this episode, Kling and the Convoy Radio team dive into the dynamic relationships between brokers and carriers, how to utilize social media to develop your own brand as a truck driver, and his personal journey from the Navy to the road.

“Using social media to help organize, to have the free flow of thoughts between guys, that’s something now in trucking [that] they didn’t have 20 years ago,” Kling said on the show. “It used to be all at the counter at the diner or in the drivers’ lounge or at the fuel island or over the CB [radio], and now you can do it from thousands of miles away.”
