Corporations across America have been more generous than ever to support those in need during this COVID-19 crisis. One of the most at-risk groups has been children, who may not be able to fully comprehend what is going on in the world, why they cannot go to school, and why they need to maintain a safe distance from friends.
Jazwares, a global leader in consumer products with a longstanding commitment to furthering the education and development of children through play, recently donated 22,000 toys to the Boys & Girls Clubs of King County, Washington.
“Children need to be children — they need to have fun and indulge their imagination,” said Judd Zebersky, Jazwares Chief Executive Officer and President. “Supporting the education and development of children through play has always been the core of Jazwares. We’re thrilled to be able to partner with the Boys & Girls Club and Convoy to provide toys to children who need them most.”
Jazwares offered the toy donation but the Boys & Girls Clubs needed assistance with moving the toys to their facilities. Convoy employee, Garrett Lund, made an introduction to the Corporate Engagement Officer at the Boys & Girls Clubs. Convoy came to the rescue to make the donation possible. Convoy account manager, Molly Black, worked directly with Jazwares and the Boys & Girls Club to oversee the delivery to ensure the toys were delivered with the same high level of service all Convoy customers have come to expect.
Convoy picked up the donation in Fife, WA and delivered Jazwares’ toys to several facilities in Seattle and Lynnwood.
In addition to Convoy’s delivery, Dreams Program Director, Andrea Bates, personally picked up donations for Birthday Dreams, Boys & Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound, and Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue to ensure every club in the region received toys.
The full recipients of these toys included:
- Boys & Girls Clubs of Kings County
“We appreciate this donation so much. It will be great to have new toys for the kids to play with at the Club, and having toys to offer as fun incentives is really helpful to our programs. I’m sure they will get a lot of use at the Club.” – Meghan Sweet, Area Director, Boys & Girls Clubs of King County
- Birthday Dreams
- Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue
- Boys & Girls Clubs of Snohomish County
“Thanks again for setting up the logistics for our delivery. We are truly grateful for the generous efforts of Convoy and their drivers for contributing their time, resources and equipment to deliver the donated toys to our Boys & Girls Club kids in Snohomish County. These have been very difficult weeks for our kids during the COVID crisis but being able to lift their spirits with these wonderful toys is really special. We are so fortunate to have generous partners like Convoy and Jazwares in our community.” – Ken Salem, Area Director, Snohomish Boys & Girls Club
- Boys & Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound
- United Way of King County
“The toys that were donated to Treehouse will be distributed through our free store for youth in the foster care system in Washington State. Often when youth change homes they are not able to bring anything with them. Treehouse provides clothing, books and school supplies to meet their basic needs and toys to make sure that youth can feel more at home.” – Victoria Kutasz, Program Manager – Material Resources at Treehouse
- Catholic Community Services.
“The ability for us to provide donations of any kind to kids in need is so vital right now,” adds Laurie Black, President & CEO, of Boys & Girls Clubs of Kings County. “With our focus on safety, learning, and fun, the generosity of Jazwares and Convoy has enabled us to continue to provide high quality resources for the youth who need us the most.”
“I must say that I’m really grateful for your help with all of this. Your expertise and professionalism are outstanding, and I really appreciate your willingness to put this together for our kids.” – Austin Bergeron, Boys & Girls Club Corporate Engagement Officer
