Press ReleasePublished on November 21, 2020

Digital freight network recognized as an ‘industry standout’  for third year in a row

Seattle, WA — November 9, 2020 — Convoy, the nation’s most efficient digital freight network, has earned the third spot in FreightWaves’ FreightTech 25, an annual list of the most innovative and disruptive companies in freight. This year marks Convoy’s third consecutive year placing in the top five.

Volatility throughout the Supply Chain

“Our nation’s supply chain has faced monumental challenges and volatility this year, and in times like this, innovation is more important than ever. With that backdrop, we are very honored to be recognized  in the FreightTech 25 list of most innovative companies,” said Convoy Co-founder and CEO Dan Lewis. “With technology-led innovation, we can reduce wasted time and costs for shippers and carriers, and improve the quality of service in our industry. By partnering together, we can also improve our planet by reducing wasted miles and emissions. Despite the turbulence of 2020, we’re proud of the breakneck speed at which we’ve been able to innovate and deliver on behalf of our customers and carriers, and we look forward to continued collaboration, tackling their toughest problems.”

Lowering Tender Rejection

In 2020, Convoy added to its list of industry-firsts with the launch of Convoy’s guaranteed tender acceptance initiative, Guaranteed Primary, a new pricing program that reduces shippers’ transportation costs by eliminating price volatility of freight RFPs with guaranteed freight coverage. The company also signed five new TMS  partners this year, broadening access for shippers nationwide to its dynamic pricing capability. Additionally, Convoy introduced several new offerings to help carriers earn more money with less hassle, including:

  • Launching Convoy Factoring, a new payment service that provides same or next day payment, with no hidden fees and no lock-in contract;
  • Introducing dedicated freight to provide every owner-operator and small fleet carrier with equal access to predictable work and income;
  • Expanding its digital freight network to include cross-border freight with Canada;
  • Offering TruckYeah Savings, providing carriers with unmatched savings of up to $35,000 on their biggest expenses.

The FreightTech 25 are among the top companies included in the FreightTech 100, a list compiled by FreightWaves based on an external panel of industry experts. Ballots are sent to 80 different members of the logistics community, including venture capitalists, founders, analysts and large company executives, where each member ranks their top 25 companies on a 1 to 25 point basis. Companies who earn the highest points comprise the FreightTech 25.
