In response to COVID-19, Convoy announces partnership with Goodyear to provide tire discounts & roadside assistance to carriers

Today, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, truckers are driving longer and wearing tires down faster to haul essential loads and keep our supply chain moving. Convoy and Goodyear, a trusted leader in the tire industry, want to help these heroic drivers. Effective immediately, we are providing roadside assistance as well as online tire discounts for carriers in our nationwide network. This ensures owner operators and small fleets can access discounts on all Goodyear Commercial truck tires and quickly address any tire issues they encounter on the road with FleetHQ roadside assistance available 24/7.

Tires are one of carriers’ biggest expenses, and small fleets or owner operators haven’t historically been able to negotiate the discounts provided to bigger fleets. Convoy is committed to helping carriers of all sizes reduce their overhead costs and this partnership is intended to do exactly that. Carriers can now access discounts that are typically reserved for larger fleets on all Goodyear Commercial truck tires, including Kelly and Marathon brands. By combining Convoy’s exclusive discount with the Goodyear’s online pricing, carriers can save up to $100 per tire, or $1,800 for the truck and trailer. Additionally, by purchasing their tires online and scheduling installation together, carriers can save time, money, and hassle throughout the process. Pre-paying for tire installation from trusted Goodyear vendors means there are no more surprise costs at installation.

Tire issue related delays on the road directly affect a carrier’s ability to stay on schedule and deliver the critical items they are hauling. Now, all carriers in Convoy’s network can access Goodyear’s FleetHQ, a roadside assistance program with no occurrence fees. Carriers call a dedicated line and are connected to the nearest Goodyear retailer, who can deliver and install tires to get carriers back on the road within 2 hours. Carriers pay only for the tires and installation, with no charge for the service.

“Goodyear is excited to collaborate with Convoy to offer carriers of all sizes access to our trusted products, premiere service network and complete tire management solutions,” said Johnny McIntosh, Goodyear’s Director of Integrated Solutions and Tire Management. “Carriers can now get the tires they need at competitive prices with a seamless purchase experience through Convoy’s connection to Goodyear’s ecommerce system. They can also take advantage of Goodyear’s FleetHQ service platform coast-to-coast for their emergency tire needs, helping them to optimize their time on the road.”

“Goodyear is known as one of the most trusted brands in the world,” said Amir Pelleg, Senior Director of Product at Convoy. “Now more than ever, we’re excited to help carriers in our network save time, money and hassle by providing them access to Goodyear’s online platform and roadside assistance program.”

Carriers can learn about accessing the Convoy online discounts by visiting the program page. These discounts are exclusive to carriers who haul with Convoy and apply to all available commercial truck tires, including Goodyear, Kelly, and Marathon brands.
