Procter & Gamble Names Convoy Innovation Partner of the Year

The transportation and logistics marketplace has a lot of companies claiming innovative solutions to really hard freight problems. But, as the saying goes, the proof is in the pudding. Or in this case, the proof is in the performance.

During Procter & Gamble’s Annual Carrier Conference, which takes place at the corporation’s global headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio, Convoy won not one — but two — awards:

  • P&G’s Club Channel Carrier of the Year, which recognized our outstanding performance servicing shipments to club retailers.
  • P&G’s prestigious Innovation Award for unlocking quality capacity through our technology-enabled carrier network.

Just four years after launching, we are one of the most innovative carriers for one of the most revolutionary and visionary supply chain operators in the world.

We have worked hard to build a program that helps P&G perform well for their own customers — and it’s only when our customers’ customers are happy that we can succeed. We are proud and humbled by this recognition from P&G. We are grateful for the recognition, and we’re excited to solve more problems together with P&G into the future.

“We called on Convoy to solve a difficult supply chain problem,” said Andy Butler, Associate Director of North American Transportation Purchases. “Their technology platform unlocked a new pool of capacity for us to work with, and the results have been impressive. Most importantly, our customers were happy with the performance.”

Procter & Gamble has been making headlines over the company’s innovative new supply chain setup and steps toward sustainability. They currently have a 14-day lead cycle, down from months. This lowers the need for forecasting the business far in advance, which lowers inventory risk, and lets the company deliver on the needs of their customers and consumers.

We began working with Procter & Gamble in 2018. P&G had a group of lanes where their regular roster of carriers was not performing up to their requirements, making for a poor customer experience. Because of our technology-enabled carrier network, we were able to outperform on tough freight during a difficult time of year.

These awards speak to our deep partnership and commitment to the success of P&G, and to our shared vision for a future of freight that is radically more efficient and sustainable.

“From the beginning, working with Convoy was a partnership — they had skin in the game,” Butler said. “Convoy disproportionately services our hardest freight, yet they consistently deliver some of the best results out of all of our carrier partners. It’s because of that level of commitment they are successful.”
