3 Ways Carriers Can Prepare for CVSA Safety Week 2020

CarriersPublished on July 8, 2020

With CVSA Safety Week set for July 12 – 18th, we created a list of 3 ways every carrier in our network can be prepared:

  1. Drive safely by watching your speed and avoid distracted driving. With far fewer passenger cars on the road as a result of COVID-19, the Governors Highway Safety Association reports that there has been a large increase in speeding. As a result, this year’s focus area is speeding, with law enforcement rigorously checking speeds of trucks on the road.
  2. Ensure your documents are in order and confirm your truck and trailer are ready by taking advantage of free inspections at participating Goodyear Commercial Tire & Service Centers. This exclusive offer is available to every carrier in our network and ensures your breaks, lighting, tires and more are all in compliance. If new tires are required, carriers can access up to $100 off any Goodyear Commercial truck tires, including Marathon and Kelly brands. To learn more, visit our website.
  3. Ensure your ELD is in compliance. ELDs track carriers’ hours of service and must provide a report out to law enforcement when requested. Carriers can use our exclusive 15% discount on Motive’s (formerly KeepTruckin) top-rated ELDs, which feature DOT Inspection Mode, as well as on monthly subscription costs. To access this discount, visit Motive’s website.

Also, see CVSA’s cheat sheet and inspection procedure for additional information.

We also want to take this opportunity to thank each and every carrier in our network for safely hauling freight all year long.
